The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) is issuing a Request forProposals (RFP) for a Contractor to: (i) provide expert consulting services toassist the Commission in the development of standards for the structuralintegrity of transmission and distribution poles in accordance with newlyenacted Texas Utilities Code § 38.006; (ii) review and analyze distributionpole plans and updates and transmission and distribution structural integritystandards reports filed by electric utilities, municipally owned utilities, andelectric cooperatives (utilities) in compliance with House Bill 144 (89 ^th R.S.) and Senate Bill 1789 (89 ^th R.S.) and agency rules; and (iii)provide recommendations to the Commission regarding utilities’ compliance withthe submitted plans, updates, and reports.
