Contract 2025-01: ENGINEERING AND DESIGN CONSULTATION SERVICES FOR ABUTMENTS AND SUBFOUNDATION OF THE SOUTH PERKASIE COVERED TIMBER BRIDGE
Wood Research & Development (WRD) is soliciting proposals for engineering and design consultation services for part of the restoration of a historic timber covered bridge located in Lenape Park in Perkasie Borough. Companies submitting proposals must have demonstrated experience of said services.
WRD seeks engineering design services to investigate the existing foundations of the South Perkasie Covered Bridge and either provide sealed confirmation of foundation capacity to resist demand loads or design modifications and/or a new foundation design to support the bridge.
Perkasie Borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, is the owner of the South Perkasie Covered Bridge. It has contracted with WRD for engineering and design services for the bridge, which was damaged by the remnants of Hurricane Ida in 2021. The rehabilitation project is partially funded by FEMA, PEMA, and the state of Pennsylvania, along with local funds.
