The work for the NANCY STREET & CHARLES STREET WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT shall consist of, but not be limited to, the complete and satisfactory construction of installation of:
Water Main
- 1,460 LF of 6” Dia. DI Water Main
- 1 Hydrant Installation
- 600 LF of ¾” Copper Water Services
- 400 CY Aggregate Base
- 800 CY Aggregate Subbase
- 350 TON 19mm Machine-Placed HMA
- 200 TON 12.5mm Machine-Placed HMA
- 200 TON Hand-Placed Pavement
- 2,300 SY Pavement Removal
- 1,700 Fine Grading - Street
Sewer Main
- 38 LF 8” Solid SDR35 PVC Pipe
- 16 VF, 4-ft Dia. Manhole
- 8 LF 6” Solid SDR35 PVC Pipe
- 8 LF 4” Solid SDR35 PVC Pipe
Work within Nancy Street (Farwell Street to Dead-End) & Charles Street (Farwell Street to Dead-End) will include new water main construction and street re-paving to width specified in Div. 10 “Measurement & Payment.” Additional sewer infrastructure will be installed in both street. Coordination with the Water District for requisite shut-downs will be required.

No Proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, made out in favor of the City of Lewiston. All bid securities will be released upon deliverance of a signed Contract or, if no Contract award is made, within forty-five (45) days after the opening of the Proposals, unless forfeited as herein stipulated.
A Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, preferably executed on AIA Bond Form Number A311, in an amount equal to the total Contract price, of a surety company satisfactory to the Purchasing Agent, will be required of the successful bidder to ensure completion of the work and the proper fulfillment of the conditions of the Contract. The total Contract price shall mean the total bid price as stated in the Proposal based on the estimated quantities of the various items of work.
