| Description: | Durham Public Schools (DPS) was recently awarded Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) grant from the U.S Department of Education. This grant will be used to support the expansion of existing Montessori programs with the opening of a third Montessori elementary school and a second Montessori middle school. This grant will also be used to revise existing magnet programs at two secondary schools. The main goal of the grant is to prevent or reduce minority group isolation by ensuring equitable (re)allocation and access to high quality, culturally responsive and engaging magnet programs, to improve overall student outcomes and educational experiences, and effectively respond to the tremendous growth and diversification of our school district This grant will also help to support more effective and sustainable structures and processes for student transportation and facility usage. DPS is seeking to contract with an independent evaluator with the expertise, capacity, and five years’ experience conducting implementation, impact and outcome evaluations for magnet programs or similar grants programs for the United States Department of Education (USDOE). The external evaluator will be responsible for: 1) preparing a detailed evaluation plan; 2) organizing data collection procedures; 3) completing annual and cumulative program implementation and outcome evaluation reports; and 4) producing quarterly formative reports for the MSAP leadership team. SCOPE OF SERVICES DPS is requesting proposals for a provider of evaluation services for years one through five of the USDOE Magnet Schools Assistance Program Grant. |
