Overview

Summary

The purpose of this solicitation is to establish one or more contracts with experienced, qualified firms to provide Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (drone) Services to complete the tasks described in the Specifications and Scope of Work section of the ITB.

Background

PROJECT BACKGROUND AND UNDERSTANDING:

Seattle City Light (SCL), a department of the City of Seattle is seeking Aerial Inspections and Survey Services which will be used to gather vital data for various programs, projects, and/or required relicensing. Unmanned aerial drone services are a safer and cost-effective way of gathering the necessary data than traditional manned aerial services. Aerial drone services can be deployed on short notice and survey areas where typical manned aerial services would be cumbersome and ill-suited.

Awarded contract(s) for drone inspections will be created to service Seattle City Light unmanned aerial survey needs. Selected vendor(s) shall be available to all of City Light business units in need of aerial drone inspections. Aerial inspections may include but are not limited to; condition assessments of equipment and facilities, vegetation management services, various geological/mapping surveys and observations, Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) project gate verification, post severe weather surveys, and for other departmental ad hoc needs. Each department in need of drone services will create their own specific requirements and needs and the scope of work should be a baseline consideration of services and deliverables.
