In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, the National Park Service (NPS), National Capital Region, intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract to:
BFI Waste Services, LLC
300 Ritchie Road
Capitol Heights, Maryland 20743-3614
This procurement is for solid waste transfer station services in support of the National Mall and Memorial Parks. The Government requires a Transfer Station facility within a 15-mile radius of the National Mall due to operational and logistical constraints. BFI Waste Services, LLC is the only known source that meets this requirement and is the only transfer station within this geographic range.
This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations. This notice is being provided for informational purposes only.
Capability Statements
However, any firm that believes it can fulfill the requirement may submit a capability statement by:
Deadline: September 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST
Responses must include:
Company name and point(s) of contact (name, phone number, email, and mailing address)
Business size under NAICS 562111
SAM Unique Entity ID
Identification of any related companies (wholly or partially owned by the same owner) providing services under the same or related NAICS codes
A clear and convincing demonstration of capability to meet the Government¿s requirements, including proximity of facilities and service capabilities
Capability statements will be reviewed solely for the purpose of determining whether to proceed with a competitive acquisition. Only responses demonstrating clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government will be considered.
