Sealed bids marked as “BID” addressed to the Angela Sparks, Craighead County Solid Waste Disposal Authority, PO Box 16777, 238 CR 746, Jonesboro, Arkansas, 72403 will be received until 2:00 p.m. on August 26, 2025. The Bids will be publicly opened and read at the Legacy Landfill, CCSWDA Administration Building (238 CR 746, Jonesboro, AR) for furnishing all labor, material, and equipment and performing all work required to construct an Equipment Storage Building at the Legacy Landfill, 238 CR 476, Jonesboro, Arkansas as described in the plans and specifications. The location of the project is approximately 2.3 miles south of Lawson Road on Arkansas Highway 1, then 0.25 miles east of Highway 1 on County Road 476. The project consists of the following:
Furnishing the material, labor, and equipment necessary to construct a new 4,800 sq. ft. pre-engineered steel building and concrete foundation utilizing a existing partial concrete slab. There will be a small office along with two bathrooms constructed under the northwest corner of the building. This is a non-insulated open steel building with a sheet metal wall along the west side and a small section of the north side. The notice of award of Contract shall be given by the Owner within sixty (60) days following the opening of bids.
The successful Bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond upon the form provided in the amount of one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Arkansas to act as surety, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner.
The attention of bidders is called to the fact that Act 150 of 1965 (as amended), Arkansas Statutes, states that under certain conditions a Contractor must be licensed by the State Licensing Board for Contractors before he may undertake work in Arkansas. The Bidder shall comply with requirements of this Arkansas Law.
Plans, specifications, proposal forms and other contract documents may be examined at Legacy Landfill, 238 CR 476, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72404. They may be secured from the same by emailing Robert D. Hendrix, PE at “ rhendrix@ccswda.com ”.
Proposals will be considered on the basis of cost, the bidder’s financial responsibility, his equipment, and his past performance in completing similar work. The Craighead County Solid Waste Disposal Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities, and to accept the proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the CCSWDA.
