South Berkeley Bikeway and Bus Stops Improvements

The City of Berkeley is advertising the South Berkeley Bikeway and Bus Stops Improvements Project, Specification No. 25-11716-C. Bids will be received at the General Services Division of the Finance Department of the City of Berkeley, 2180 Milvia Street, 3rd Floor, Berkeley, CA 94704 until 2:00 pm on April 3, 2025.

The Engineer’s estimate for the work is $4,227,000.

The work of the South Berkeley Bikeway and Bus Stops Improvements Project consists of the following components:

In general, the work will consist of:

• Approximately 1.2 miles of bicycle boulevard improvements along Fulton St, Prince St, Wheeler St, and Woolsey St;
• Crossing improvements at five key intersections; and
• Bus stop relocations and upgrades.

More specifically, the Work consists of but is not limited to, coordination with utility companies, AC Transit, BART, and nearby businesses and residents; saw-cutting; removal of existing pavement markings and raised pavement markers; removal of existing asphalt concrete pavements; removal of Portland cement concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalks; construction of new Portland cement concrete sidewalks, curb ramps, medians, and bus stop pads;
