The Town of Yarmouth invites sealed bids for the Route 6A Waterline Project.
Sealed General Contract bids will be received at the Office of the Yarmouth Town Administrator, 1146 Route 28, South Yarmouth, MA 02664, until 3:00 PM on March 11, 2026, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in Conference Room A at Yarmouth Town Hall.
The work includes, but is not limited to, installation of 8-inch and 12-inch water main, pavement milling and overlay, and curb ramp improvements along Main Street (Route 6A) in Yarmouth.
The work must be completed within 450 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed.
Bid documents will be available on the Town of Yarmouth website (Doing Business page) beginning at 8:30 a.m. on February 19, 2026.
Bids shall be in a sealed envelope bearing the words:
“BID ENCLOSED FOR – ROUTE 6A WATERLINE PROJECT.”
Each bid shall be submitted on the forms provided and shall be accompanied by a bid deposit equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid price, in accordance with M.G.L. c.30, §39M.
MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as Sewer and Water for the project with an estimated value of $5,432,030.00 will be required.
Bidders may not withdraw their Bids for a period of sixty (60) days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, following the actual date of the Bid opening.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish Payment and Performance Bonds in accordance with M.G.L. c.149, §29 and M.G.L. c.30, §39M. The Performance Bond shall also comply with applicable Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Access Permit requirements, as set forth in the Contract Documents.
There will be no pre-bid conference for this project.
Prevailing wage rates as determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards under M.G.L. c.149, §§26–27D, as amended, shall apply to all work performed under this Contract.
The bidding and award of this Contract shall be governed by the provisions of M.G.L. c.30, §39M.
The Town of Yarmouth reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities if deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
