Charles county Public Schools (CCPS) is seeking bids for the renovation and addition of classrooms at William A. Wade Elementary School.  CCPS will receive bids at the Charles County Public Schools Annex 1, 2 ^nd Floor Training Room #206, 5985 Radio Station Road in La Plata, Maryland until 1:00 P.M. - Local Time – February 27, 2025.  Properly completed sealed Bids received prior to the deadline will be publicly opened and read aloud at the aforementioned place and date.  Bids received after the designated times shall not be considered and shall be returned to the bidder.

Brief project description: Project includes, though is not limited to renovating 19,616 gross square feet and adding 7,985 gross square feet. The addition will house four (4) new classrooms, a new music room and support spaces.  Renovation of the 2002 addition area will consolidate the entire early childhood program at the east edge of the building adjacent a dedicated outdoor play plaza. Core space improvements will include increasing the capacity of the cafeteria and health suite as well as some acoustic improvements. Sitework includes but is not limited to a new outdoor early education play plaza and new playground surfacing and equipment to replace existing surfaces and equipment removed where the new addition will be constructed.

Pre-Qualified Bidders must secure proposed contract documents, including construction plans and specifications in digital format, from the Charles County Public Schools Planning and Construction Department, CCPS Annex 1, 5985 Radio Station Road, La Plata, Maryland at a cost of $200.00 per set (non‑refundable).  Bid Documents will be available on January 27, 2025.

Proposed Bidders who seek to be pre-qualified shall complete the Contractor’s Pre-Qualification Questionnaire and submit for approval to bid this project. Submit completed questionnaires and financials to Mrs. Susan Pond ( spond@ccboe.com ) prior to 1:00 pm on the mandatory pre-bid conference date of 2/13/25.  Any incomplete package or late package will not be accepted and returned to contractor.

Certified minority business enterprises are encouraged to respond to this bid notice.

Prospective bidders must assemble at William B. Wade Elementary School, 2300 Smallwood Drive West, Waldorf Maryland on February 13025, at 1:00 P.M. for a MANDATORY Pre-Bid conference. It is MANDATORY that all bidders attend the pre-bid conference and site visit.
