Summary

The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from offerors (Offerors) to select a qualified Offeror, who will provide a nationally recognized early learning childcare curriculum to licensed family childcare home providers (the Work). The curriculum will be used throughout the State of Ohio for instruction and supporting the growth and development of children from birth to kindergarten entry who are in family childcare settings in printed, paper, and/or online curriculum formats. Proposals must clearly demonstrate the Offeror’s capability of providing services as described in this RFP.

The curriculum will need to support home-based providers to serve a group of children that are of different ages. The curriculum will need to include child assessment for childcare providers to use.

Ohio seeks to provide support to its diverse population of family childcare providers by providing a comprehensive curriculum to aid in instruction and developmental growth for children from birth to kindergarten ready. State law requires that providers use a research-based curriculum that can meet the diverse needs of children who are spending time in family child care. With the state’s commitment to implementing language and literacy instructional materials and strategies supported by the science of reading, it is critical that children and their providers have access to a curriculum that supports their learning and kindergarten readiness. Moreover, Ohio updated their Early Learning and Development Standards in 2022 and is seeking a curriculum that is aligned to those standards for children from birth to kindergarten entry.
