Brief description: MnDOT requests proposals for technical, project management and planning expertise to build on in it previous successful distance-based fee demonstration to demonstrate the potential of using telematics data directly sourced from a leading automobile manufacturer for the purposes of computing Road User Charges (RUC). The approach being pursued by MnDOT is to show how these fees can be collected efficiently, cost effectively, and reliably through Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) embedded telemetric while ensuring data security and privacy. During this pilot effective communication to various stakeholders to promote a wider understanding of the RUC will be required. The contractor selected is expected to work closely and collaboratively with Minnesota Department of Transportation and with the University of Minnesota staff and Via staff assigned to this project.
