Project Description: The Governor Mifflin School District, Berks County, Pennsylvania, solicits sealed bids for the Governor Mifflin High School and Governor Mifflin Middle School in Shillington, PA for Contract No. 1 – General Construction, Contract No. 2 - Plumbing Construction, Contract No. 3 - HVAC Construction, Contract No. 4 - Electrical Construction and Contract No. 5 - Fire Protection System Construction.
Sealed proposals for the Governor Mifflin High School Renovation and Governor Mifflin Middle School Renovation Construction Project within the Shillington Borough, Berks County, Pennsylvania, will be received online via the PennBid Program (www.pennbid.net) by Governor Mifflin School District until 2:00 PM prevailing time on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at which time they will be opened via PennBid.
Sealed bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the Governor Mifflin School District. Checks or bonds will be returned to unsuccessful bidders after the contract has been awarded, or the bids rejected. The successful bidder’s check or bond will be returned when his contract has been properly completed. In case the successful bidder fails to enter into contract within ten (10) days after notification of acceptance of bid, said check or bond shall be forfeited to the School District. All bids must be accompanied by Non-Collusion Affidavit, Non-Discrimination Affidavit, Workmen's Compensation Act Affidavit, Public School Code Agreement, Contractor’s Qualification Statement, and Bid Security in accordance with the Bid Documents. Bids must remain in force for sixty (60) days after the date of the bid opening and may be rejected any time prior to the expiration of said date.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bonds in amounts equal to 100% of the contract price. Surety shall be satisfactory to the School District and shall be included in the contractor’s bid amount.
All Bidding documents are available online at no cost at PennBid (www.pennbid.net) and will become available starting Monday March 3, 2025, after 10:00 AM via PennBid.
All questions will be received through the PennBid solicitation until Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 12:00 Noon.
There will be a MANDATORY pre-bid meeting held at the Governor Mifflin School District Administration Building located at 10 South Waverly Street, Shillington, PA 19607 at 3:00 PM prevailing time on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Attendance of all Prime Contract Bidders is mandatory.
Recommendation for Award of Bids will be made to the School Directors at a School Board Meeting on April 14, 2025. The School Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, and to make or not make awards in the best interest of the Governor Mifflin School District.
