The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has a requirement for non-personal engineering and technical services to support research activities of FHWA’s Office of Infrastructure Research and Development located at the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC) in McLean, Virginia. The Office of Infrastructure Research and Development (HRDI) conducts and oversees research and development programs and projects that address critical highway infrastructure needs and priorities of national importance. The Long-Term Infrastructure Performance (LTIP) team within HRDI conducts research and development activities aim at improving the performance of highway infrastructure assets through execution of long-term research programs, generating robust data and developing technical knowledge. These efforts lead to more efficient design, construction, rehabilitation, maintenance, preservation, and management of these assets. The LTIP programs include the Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) Program and the Long-Term Bridge Performance (LTBP) Program. These programs, collect and assemble critical data to improve infrastructure design and deepen understanding of highway performance. The resulting data, knowledge and engineering tools are made accessible through the FHWA InfoHighway™ data portals (https://infohighway.fhwa.dot.gov).
