MWF-047 Required Reclamation:
All reclamation of the dozer guard on MWF-047 will need to occur during frozen ground conditions. The overburden and organics pushed up against the treeline should be rolled back and dispersed along the disturbed mineral soil. The dozer guard on MWF-047 is characterized as being on average 15m wide for 51.64 km (77.46 ha), a section with an average width of 26 m runs for 12.11 km (31.49 ha). In total, the area of guard that needs to be reclaimed is estimated at 108.95 ha. There have been 47 helipads constructed along the dozer guard totaling approximately 50ha. Total estimated area to be reclaimed on MWF-047 is 158.95ha. There are 17 crossing that will need to be removed and mitigated.

Majority of the guard has been created in C1 and C2 fuel types. Portions of the guard have been reclaimed with focus on rehabilitating those disturbed areas near the Firebag river.

A temporary crossing of the Firebag river will be required to complete work north of the river.

ACCESS:
The most efficient access to the fire and associated dozer guard is via the east/north-east side of Imperial Oil Kearl Lake’s mine site. A trail that runs parallel with the Firebag river is on high ground and provides access to the west/north-west perimeter of the wildfire. The distance from Kearl Lake to the west flank of the fire is roughly 14.5km. In summer conditions it took heavy equipment 5-6 hours to walk in from Kearl Lake. Successful bidder will need to coordinate access to work area through the Kearl Lake site.

ACCESS FEATURES (ROADS)
The following has been agreed with local trappers: that newly created dozer guard will be rolled back. The pre-existing unimproved road/trail that had been widened to ~50m will be rolled back to an opening of 6-9m (1-1.5 blade width).
