Sodium Chloride (Road Salt & Solar Salt) - Furnished and Delivered

It is the intention of the Department to arrange for purchase of a twelve (12) month requirement of Sodium Chloride beginning at the award of one or more of the proposals received in response to this bid invitation. The Department is representing a Cooperative composed of the Towns of Dedham, Dover, Wellesley, Weston and Westwood. The Department estimates that the Cooperative’s purchases during the twelve (12) month period will be in the order of 16,000 +/- tons, but the obligations incurred by the acceptance of any bid is limited to the purchase of the actual requirements. All quantities listed on page seventeen (17) of this bid were estimated for bidding purposes only. These estimated quantities are not a guarantee that each Town will purchase these amounts. However, should the actual requirements for the purchase of sodium chloride exceed these estimated quantities, the bidder shall not limit supply beyond these estimated quantities and shall fulfill any and all orders.

Deliveries will be authorized by individual Purchase Orders issued by each individual Town from time to time throughout the twelve (12) month period, beginning with the award of the contract.

The Department will notify the supplier/vendor thirty (30) days prior to contract end of its intention to renew the contract.
