passersby not to enter the work area. Workers must not track dust or debris from the work area into the
building.
*Remove the existing windows, the window frames/stops, and any material from the installation that
will prevent a level and firm installation or will prevent full adhesion of the selected sealant.
*Demolition debris shall be disposed of in a compliant manner.
*Install new windows in accordance with Manufacturer’s specifications in alignment with the wall.
Support the windows under their main vertical supports with shims that level the window.
*The window frames require a sufficiently wide gap between the new frame and the masonry opening to
allow for a slightly out-of-square opening, leveling the window, and caulking the gap. Windows rely on
caulk/sealant to create a weatherproof seal around the window perimeter. Take care when installing
caulk so that it is durable and effective for as long as possible. The final installation shall be air and
watertight.
*All affected work zones/areas shall be maintained in a clean, safe and secured condition at each day’s
ending. At no time shall any window opening remain unfilled/unsecured at the end of a day’s work
period.
