This Sources Sought notice is being posted to satisfy the requirement of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 206.302-1(d). The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ intends to issue a sole source, fixed price contract to Eagle Tugs, LLC, a subsidiary of Tronair Inc., CAGE 59603 for the procurement of the following item(s): modification of the pintle configuration in front and rear of two (2) USATS-6 Tugs with Adjustable Height CP-400 pintles in support of the VH-92A Program. The current configuration includes PN AE-OPT-0028, Fixed Rear Pintle Hook Hitch and PN AE-OPT-0032F, Fixed Front Hitch.
This acquisition is being pursued under the sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements”; therefore, a solicitation is not available for this procurement. The Government does not have the technical data to obtain this item from an alternate source.
THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, the Government will consider all information received within 17 calendars days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any responses received. There are no commitments by the Government to issue any solicitations, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before the award of a contract for the efforts mentioned above. The information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for or award a contract.
