Description
The Government intends to sole source the ANSYS site license. ANSYS, Inc. is the licensing provider for LS-DYNA which is a finite element analysis software used to run physics-based simulations to support the Aerial Delivery Division (ADD) with system performance insights. This tool serves as a primary physics engine for executing Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Fluid-Structure-Interaction (FSI) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) calculations with geometries that represent airdrop applications. The primary purpose of LS-DYNA is to properly handle the big data calculations of personnel parachute, vehicle airbag, aircraft and standard extraction parachute system components. The LS-DYNA calculations provide performance solutions of how a system or component will respond when it experiences an applied load or acceleration and help identify potential failure modes.
