The work of this contract generally consists of the construction of new water main in the City of Melrose. Approximately 1,700 linear feet of 8-inch diameter ductile iron water main shall be installed on Crystal Street and Circuit Street. Additive Alternate A generally includes an additional 200 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron water main to be installed on Circuit Street. All water mains shall be furnished and installed with associated valves, fittings, and hydrants.

Temporary bypass piping shall be used during the construction of the water main where specified herein. All service connections are to be completed after the water main successfully passes the pressure testing and chlorination procedures. Please note that the Crystal Street work is time sensitive so bidders shall refer to the contract documents for specific time line requirements.
Contract Documents shall be made available, starting on February 12, 2025, at 10:00 A.M., by emailing the DPW Engineering Division at jrosa@CityofMelrose.org. All requests must include a company name, address, contact name, contact phone number, email address, and request for access to the bid documents for the Melrose 2025 Water Main Improvements, Crystal Street and Circuit Street. Invitation to access the bid documents will not be sent if the request does not include this information. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be submitted to the City of Melrose via email, Attn: Jennifer Rosa at jrosa@CityofMelrose.org no later than February 27, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
