SUMMARY OF REQUEST
Project Description
The City of Harrisonville has need of sidewalk trip hazard removal mitigation and repair services for designated work areas throughout the City as indicated on Attachemnt A. The area of work will not include sidewalks along MO Hwy 291 as that would be the responsibility of MoDOT.
Typical services under this agreement consist of all hazards removed of raised sidewalk trip hazards ranging from +.25’’ up to +1.5’’ utilizing a non-grinding method that fully eliminates hazards from one end of the joint to the other while maintaining ADA-compliant slopes not exceeding 1:12. Hazards exceeding 1.5’’ shall be marked for replacement and reported to the City.
All repair methods shall provide a uniform finished appearance and texture, achieve a minimum coefficient of friction of 0.6, and shall not utilize deteriorating fill materials, grinding or pulverizing techniques, or water spray dust control systems. A dust abatement system must be operational during all repairs to prevent environmental impact or discharge into storm drainage systems. The selected contractor shall ensure that repair activities do not damage adjacent property, including driveways, landscaping, retaining walls, curbs, utilities, or other improvements. Any damage caused shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
Repair services shall include hazards located in confined or obstructed areas and must be performed in a manner that avoids major interruption to pedestrian access, businesses, schools, churches, and emergency services. All debris shall be removed immediately upon completion of each repair, and disposal costs shall be included in the unit price.
