Overview

Summary

Dane County is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the Dane County Elections Center / Clerks Office Facility Remodel - Construction , located at 2002 Pankratz Street, Madison, WI 53704 . This project involves renovation of approximately 61,500 SF of the former Ale Asylum facility. Work includes demolition of existing interior facility, construction of offices/storage areas/classroom/training space, to include plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire suppression/detection, communications and access control. HVAC is based off of geothermal and will include installation of a wellfield. Existing solar voltaic system to remain in place with controls being relocated to new mechanical spaces. This project is being delivered under a lump sum contract that also includes four (4) bid options.

The goal of this project is to provide the Dane County Clerk with a high functioning elections center for Dane County and the City of Madison to operate from. Work is expected to be performed in coordination with Dane County Public Works and must comply with all applicable county specifications, ordinances, local permitting requirements, or prevailing wage laws. Due to close proximity to residential areas, outside work (demolition, paving, and other large noise producing activities) is constrained to the hours of 0800 - 1700 unless prior written approval from Dane County Public Works.

Interested vendors should have demonstrated experience in public facility renovations and site civil work in urban settings and the ability to manage projects of similar size and complexity.
