Question Answer
1 Who is responsible for inspections and materials testing and the associated fees? If the General Contractor is responsible for the testing, please provide all the testing requirements for this project. The city will contract directly with a third party firm for inspections & materials testing, the slected GC is expected to coordinate with them on timing & scheduling of inspection, but is not responsible for their fees.
2 How would the owner want to address soft soils conditions, if encountered? If unsuitable soils are encountered, the contractor will need to coordinate with the City's materials testing and inspections consultant to determine the recommended remediation. The remediation is expected to be paid on a unit rate (CY) as indicated in the bid schedule. A revised bid schedule is included as part of this addendum.
