Newberry County (Agency) is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for improvements to Gallman
Place located at 540 Brantley Street in Newberry, SC 29108.
This solicitation is intended to promote competition. If any language, specifications, terms and conditions,
or any combination thereof restricts or limits the requirements in this solicitation to a single source, it shall
be the responsibility of the interested vendor to notify the Purchasing Director in writing within five (5) days
prior to the opening date. The solicitation may or may not be changed but a review of such notification will
be made prior to the award.

Bidder Responsibilities and Requirements:
All prospective bidders must participate in a Pre-Bid meeting. The Pre-Bid meeting shall be at the proposed
site unless an alternate location is listed above. Failure to attend this meeting shall be grounds for
rejection of bid.
Deadline for questions is listed in the Important Dates above.

Prices submitted are valid for 60 days.
Project Description:
The Project includes improvements of approximately 12,000 SF of the existing high school to be used for
a community center. This includes: upgrades to existing electrical system including new panelboards,
upgrades to existing classroom lighting and HVAC (wall units), restroom renovations for accessiblity
compliance, upgrades to the existing kitchen and cafeteria lighting and HVAC (wall units), upgrades to life
safety lighting and fire alarm systems, and new accessible parking spaces at street and an accessible route
to the building. Structural repair design of unknown conditions is excluded.
The project is located at 540 Brantley Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
