911 Furniture and Consoles
OBJECTIVE
Fayette County 911 Communications is seeking information from qualified manufacturers and
vendors of public safety dispatch console furniture and seeks solutions capable of supporting a
24/7/365 public safety communications environment and welcomes vendor input regarding
design approaches, product capabilities, and lifecycle considerations.
STATEMENT OF NEED/REQUESTED INFORMATION
911 is evaluating replacement of existing dispatch console furniture to support:
Twelve (12) total positions
o Eleven (11) in the primary communications room
o One (1) in a separate supervisor’s office
The intent is to identify solutions that closely align with the operational needs described below,
and that are within a price range that is within the county’s available resources. The goal is to
obtain information on current technology, vendor capabilities, and market possibilities.
We ask that you provide information about your offerings that meet the needs described below.
Highlight any features or capabilities that are unique to your products.
So that we can determine the types of currently available products that most closely meet our
needs, while within a price that we can consider, we ask that you consider inclusion of a broad
price range that indicates roughly what we might expect the solution to cost us. The price range
should be general enough to acknowledge that specific configurations, capabilities, and other
considerations have not yet been determined. This is a request for information only, is not an
offer or solicitation, and will not be used as a request for quotes.
The county welcomes your suggestions toward meeting the needs stated above. In order to facilitate
your reply, no specific response format is required or requested. Please return the attached “Company
Information” form with your response.
FACILITY DESCRIPTION
Main Communications Room
Approximate dimensions: 43’ x 26’ 8” rectangular layout
One 1’ x 1’ floor-to-ceiling support beam
Raised access flooring
Design intent is for cabling to be routed under-floor
Installation may occur concurrently with a flooring replacement project.
Alcove Area
11’ x 19’ alcove along the southwest wall, potentially suitable for supervisor or call-taker
configuration
Two 3’ x 3’ alcoves at north and south corners near doorways
Supervisor’s Office
Approximate dimensions: 15’ 9” x 12’
No raised flooring
Cabling would require ceiling and/or wall routing
Intended to house one fully functional dispatch position
OPERATIONAL ENVIRONMENT
911 operates 24/7/365 in a mission-critical public safety environment. Console solutions should
be designed for continuous use and high equipment density.
Each primary workstation currently includes:
Three (3) PC towers
One (1) ABOB
One (1) KVM
Multiple monitors, including a minimum of two (2) 42-inch monitors in single-row
configuration
Vendors are encouraged to describe how their solutions accommodate similar equipment loads
and monitor configurations.
DESIRED CAPABILITIES
911 is interested in solutions capable of supporting the following:

Integrated heating and/or cooling options
Adjustable task lighting

Vendors should describe typical warranty offerings and long-term parts sourcing capabilities.
Equipment Integration & Cable Management
Secure and ventilated storage for multiple PC towers
Cable management solutions compatible with raised access flooring
Clean cable routing behind monitors and below work surfaces
Accessible power and data connections for end users
Power & Connectivity
Integrated power distribution suitable for current equipment loads
User-accessible power and data ports
Options for USB, USB-C, and other emerging connector types
Adaptability for evolving technology needs
Modularity & Expandability
Customizable workstation configurations
Flexibility for future monitor or equipment changes
Ability to modify or expand storage solutions post-installation
Indicator Lighting
Three-light (Busy / Ready / Help) indicator systems
Compatibility with the Carbyne Apex phone system and other leading call-handling

consideration, as time is an important factor in this initiative.
