Description
MWF-047-2024 Cattail Required Reclamation:
Reclamation of one (1) helipad and four (4) creek crossings on the dozer guard associated with MWF-047 will need to occur during frozen ground conditions. There is one (1) pile of overburden and organics present on a helipad that is to spread evenly, laid flat along the cleared area away from the tree line.
In addition, there are four (4) log full creek crossings that are to be removed to establish natural stream flow. The brush and log fills with in the cross are also to be spread evenly, laid flat along the cleared right of way away from the tree line. Total estimated area to be reclaimed on MWF-047-2024 is 5 ha.
ACCESS:
The most efficient access to the fire and associated dozer guard is via the east/north-east side of Imperial Oil Kearl Lake’s mine site. A trail that runs parallel with the Firebag river is on high ground and provides access to the west/south-west perimeter of the wildfire. The distance from Kearl Lake to the west flank of the fire is roughly 14.5km. In summer conditions it took heavy equipment 5-6 hours to walk in from Kearl Lake. Successful bidder will need to coordinate access to work area through the Kearl Lake site.
