Title: SR 132 West Needham to Gates Building Removal
Addenda: 1
Release Date: 4/16/2026
Due Date: 5/21/2026
This Request for Qualification is issued by the Stanislaus Council of Governments (StanCOG) to select up to three (3) qualified firms to provide on-call building removal and demolition, of residential and ancillary structures. The selected firm(s) will enter into a professional services agreement for an initial term of three (3) years, with one (1) optional year extension at the sole discretion of StanCOG. The total cumulative compensation under each contract shall not exceed $500,000 for the duration of the contract, including any extensions.
This is a multi-award solicitation. StanCOG intends to create a pool of up to three (3) contractors to provide services on an as-needed bases. Specific projects, deliverables, and fees will be negotiated via individual Task Orders throughout the contract term. StanCOG makes no guarantee that any specific amount of work or compensation will be awarded to a contractor.
StanCOG is advancing the State Route (SR) 132 West Needham Avenue to Gates Road Project, a critical infrastructure improvement effort designed to enhance regional mobility, safety, and long-term transportation efficiency. Implementation of this project requires the acquisition and preparation of multiple properties located within the project corridor. As these properties are acquired, they will remain vacant during the interim period prior to the commencement of construction activities.
The presence of vacant structures presents potential risks, including unauthorized access, public safety hazards, and environmental concerns. As such, timely and coordinated building removal is necessary to secure these properties, reduce liability, and prepare the sites for future construction. StanCOG is therefore seeking qualified and experienced contractors to support the removal of buildings, foundations, and associated site improvements throughout the project area.
This effort includes the removal of residential and ancillary structures, as well as appurtenances such as garages, fencing, canopies, septic systems, and other site features. In addition to demolition activities, contractors will play a key role in ensuring that all work is conducted in a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible manner, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to applicable regulations.
Overall, this effort is essential to clear the right-of-way, mitigate environmental and public safety risks, and ensure that properties are in a condition that supports efficient and timely construction. The successful completion of these activities will directly contribute to the advancement and delivery of the SR 132 West project.
