RFP 2024-25-007 Waste Characterization Study

The City of Hesperia’s City Managers Department (City) is seeking a consultant to perform a waste characterization study. Utilizing the 2021 CalRecycle Disposal Facility-Based Characterization Study (Attachment A) as a model, the consultant will evaluate waste disposal in the City of Hesperia. At the direction of the City of Hesperia and/or the City’s waste hauler Advance Disposal, the consultant will sample representative portions of residential, commercial, and self-haul solid waste generated in the City of Hesperia; sort disposed waste by type; compile collected data; and report the results to the City of Hesperia. The consultant will conduct a waste characterization study to determine a local per capita procurement target, per the option to do so in accordance with the procurement target adjustment mechanism (PTAM), or waste characterization study process, described in AB 2346

Consultants interested in participating in this RFP should immediately provide the Contact with a telephone number, and an e-mail address for dissemination of addenda and/or supplemental information, as applicable. Failure to provide said contact information may result in late notifications and/or incomplete proposals.

The deadline for submitting a proposal 1:00 PM on April 30, 2025. Any proposals received after this time will be returned unopened.
