Sand Beach 25/26 Salvage Sale

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This is a salvage sale of approximately 71 acres of wildfire-damaged timber on Apalachicola River Wildlife and Environmental Area in Franklin County, Florida (see attached maps).  There are currently 38 acres of planted slash pine that need immediate salvaging by clearcutting.  The 33-acre contingency area is within the burn area and can be added as needed by the Forester-in-Charge.  Timber available for harvest includes all merchantable pine timber within the sale boundaries.   Sale boundaries are roads, firelines, obvious timber type changes, or lines marked with paint or flagging.  The successful bidder must start harvesting within two weeks of contract execution and must not stop harvesting for longer than 72 hours without approval from the Forester-in-Charge.  This will be a six (6) month contract.  The purchaser will be solely responsible for making roads serviceable for logging operations. There is no volume estimate for this sale; products include salvage pine pulpwood, and salvage pine chip-n-saw & better. Interested parties may obtain complete bid information by contacting Tanner Copeland at (850) 697-0023.

The Florida Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularity in bids received.
