Project Description: The City of Round Rock, herein after “the City” seeks proposals from firms experienced in providing health benefits and prescription drug claims services. Successful Respondent shall also provide enhanced program recommendations, options, and alternatives, as available, through internal or external sources (i.e., enhanced offering or third-party agreements).
The City currently outsources health, dental, vision and prescription drug claims benefit administration services to United Healthcare, a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) for all employees and retirees. The City operates within a self-insured medical and dental benefit program that provides benefits to its employees and dependents. In 2026 the City currently has approximately 2400 active employees, retirees, and dependents enrolled in the benefit plans.
The City operates on a fiscal year beginning October 1st through September 30th.
The City’s benefits plan year is January 1st through December 31st. Open Enrollment for benefits is October of each year.
