Description

The core of this project is to modify the existing power system of our mobile lab by designing and implementing a new power system to address issues inherent with the old system. The re-design should not include the existing inverters and integral battery charger. These should be replaced with a system that produces AC current for the loads continually from the DC BUS provided by the DC Power System, alternator, and batteries. That is, the completed system should work in a similar fashion to an online double conversion Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), providing the AC loads with uninterruptible frequency and voltage regulated AC power. Charging of the batteries must be included in the design.
