Cumberland Mills Elementary School Walk-in Cooler/Freezer Replacement

INVITATION TO BID
Sealed proposals will be received in the Cumberland County Schools' Operations Center Plans Room,
810 Gillespie Street, Fayetteville, NC 28306, until , April 9th, 2026, at 11:00am. At which time they will
be publicly opened and read aloud for the Cumberland Mills Elementary School Walk-in Cooler/Freezer
Replacement. The general scope of work will consist of demo of existing interior walk in cooler/freezer
along with installation of new interior cooler and freezer along with installation of refrigeration equipment,
refrigerant piping, misc. electrical and gas piping etc. A new access opening for the walk in cooler/freezer to
be created in existing wall along with new access opening for storage room. Equipment in equipment room
to be demoed and room to be cleaned and painted with new flooring, ceiling etc.
Single prime proposals only will be received for all construction work. The Owner encourages participation by
minority businesses. Complete Bid Documents will be issued electronically to all interested and qualified bidders.

A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the site. Contractors interested in bidding shall meet at
10:00 am on March 26th, 2026, at Cumberland Mills Elementary School, 2576 Hope Mills Rd, Fayetteville,
NC 28306
Requirements for bidding this project are as follows:
1. Three references from previously satisfied public-school customers of similar size, scope & timeframe.
2. Furnish NC License Number (G.S. Chapter 87 establishes licensing requirements for general, plumbing,
heating, electrical, and refrigeration contractors for construction projects costing $30,000 or more).
3. Insurance - The Contractor shall provide, as required by law, insurance for his employees. The Cumberland
County Schools assumes no liability for injuries or accidents related to the Contractual Agreement. The
Contractor shall furnish a certificate to the Owner (Cumberland County Schools) as a Proof of Coverage. The
Contractor shall maintain and pay the Insurance Coverage, which shall not be less than the following:

Employers Liability $1,000,000
Owner/Officer must be included in coverage
B. General Liability (per person/per occurrence):
1. Bodily and Personal Liability $1,000,000/$2,000,000
2. Property Damage $1,000,000/$2,000,000 Aggregate
C. Automobile Liability (per person/per occurrence)
1. Bodily Injury $1,000,000
2. Property Damage: $1,000,000 Aggregate
D. Builder's Risk or Installation Floater Contract Amount*
5. Recruitment of minority business participation in accordance with G.S. 143-128.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.
