Description
SUMMARY:
Through this Request for Proposals (“RFP”), the City of Merritt (the “City”) invites Proposals from civil contracting firms, to perform construction services for the City’s proposed ‘West Merritt Active Transportation Path Phase 2’ (the ‘Project’), that focuses on the installation of appurtenances along the newly-constructed active transportation pathway. The Project is in the West Merritt neighborhood and will generally include solar pathway lighting, benches, garbage and recycling, a public restroom facility, and an outdoor fitness area. The appurtenances will be placed in specific locations along the approximately 2.8 - kilometer recreation route. Full details of the Work required is provided in Part A of this RFP.

Contract Time: The following are key milestone dates required for the Work:
- The Work may commence anytime after: January 30, 2025
- Substantial Performance of the Work: must be achieved no later than August 29, 2025
- Total Performance of the Work must be achieved no later than 20 calendar days following Substantial Performance.
- The City is providing Respondents with a flexible window in order to complete the Work. Notwithstanding the milestone dates stated above, the total duration of Work when Contractor’s forces are actively working on-site shall not exceed 9 calendar weeks in total, and such 9 weeks may be split over no more than two Work segments (each segment being a separate mobilization and demobilization to/from site by the Contractor’s forces).
