The Government has a requirement for hotel room safes at Tyndall AFB, FL. The Governemnt is searching for Buy-American Act (BAA) compliant safes that meet the requirments. The sepeicfications require a digital safe that is capable of fiting a 17 inch laptop, approximately 8" X 19.5" X 15.75" dimensions, and cpable of being opened manually by hotel staff. Teh Government has been unable to find a BAA compliant safe. The RFP gave the HD Supply Shield Security Electronic In-Room Safe as an example. The Construction Contractor has proposed the Registry Guest Room Safe, 8" H x 19.50" Wx 15.75" D, Black, sold by Americna Hotel Register (Consolidated Hospitality Supplies), 544Lakeview Parkway, Suite 300 Vernon Hills, IL 60061.

The purpose of this notice is to understand the market for alternative suppliers of the items described above. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all information received by the date indicated in this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to grant an exception to BAA requiremetns based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Contracting, is conducting a market survey to identify alternate sources.
