ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Canton, Mississippi will receive written sealed or

electronic bids until the hour of 10:00 AM (CT) on THURSDAY, MAY 14, 2026 at City Clerk Office,

226 East Peace Street, Canton, MS 39046, for the furnishing of all labor and materials and for the

construction of that certain project designated as CANTON INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS

PROJECT All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 10:00 AM (CT) on THURSDAY, MAY 14,

2026 in the City Clerk’s Office at 226 East Peace Street, Canton, MS 39046.

Contractors have the option of submitting their bids sealed in an envelope or electronically through

www.waggonerengplans.com. Sealed bid envelopes shall be marked “SEALED BID FOR CITY OF

CANTON – CANTON INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT TO BE OPENED AT 10:00 AM (CT)

on THURSDAY, MAY 14, 2026,” and if any envelope is not so marked, any bid contained therein will

not be considered.

All bid envelopes should contain the bidder’s name and mailing address on the face of the envelope.

The bid shall also contain the bidder’s Certificate of Responsibility number or a statement that the

bid enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) on the outside of the envelope,

failing which, said bid shall not be opened or considered.

When submitting an electronic bid, the bid must be submitted in “pdf” format and shall contain the

same information and forms as required for the paper bids. Electronic bids must be secured with a

bid bond. When submitting a bid electronically, the authorized signature may be a hand- written

blue ink signature or be an electronic signature. When bids are submitted electronically, the

requirement for including a certificate of responsibility, or a statement that the bid enclosed does

not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), on the exterior of the bid envelope shall be deemed

in compliance by including the same information as an attachment with the electronic bid submittal.

Official bid documents may be obtained from the office of Waggoner Engineering, Inc., located at

143-A Lefleurs Square, Jackson, MS upon payment of $100.00 for each set, none of which is

refundable, or from www.waggonerengplans.com.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2026 in the

City Clerk’s Office at 226 East Peace Street, Canton, MS 39046. All project related questions should

be directed to Jamie McInnis at jamie.mcinnis@waggonereng.com with the subject line reading –

“CANTON INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT” no later than 3:00 p.m. on MONDAY, MAY

4, 2026

The project consists of: intersection and street improvements per the pay item descriptions and

quantities listed on the Bid Form.

The total Contract Time will be 90 consecutive calendar days and the liquidated damages will be

$200.00 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.

The City of Canton, Mississippi hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any

contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises/woman

business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation

and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration

for an award.

Copies of the plans and specifications, together with contract documents, may be obtained from

the office of Waggoner Engineering, Inc., located at 143-A LeFleur’s Square, Jackson, MS upon

payment of $100.00 for each set, none of which is refundable, or from

www.waggonerengplans.com.

Award will be made to the lowest and best bidder and the City of Canton, Mississippi reserves the

right to reject any and all bids.
