Mariposa Creek Parkway Phase III - Notice to Bidders
To whom it may concern,
The Construction Documents, including plans and specifications for the Mariposa Creek Parkway Phase III
project, were previously released for public bid. Bids received previously exceeded available construction
funding. As a result, the project Construction Documents have been modified with the intent of reducing
construction costs to be within available funding limits.
The purpose of this letter is to provide general guidance to interested bidders on areas within the
documents that have been modified. This list shall not be considered exhaustive, nor shall it be used for the
purpose of generating bid responses. Interested bidders are required to review the associated Construction
Documents including the project plans and specifications. The information contained within the Construction
Documents shall take precedence over any item included, or excluded, in this document.
Generally, the Construction Documents have been modified in the following manner:
* Stonework quantity has been reduced and typology has been simplified.
* Procurement of stones has been simplified.
* Stonework finishing and size tolerances have been simplified.
* Large granite stonework including the granite stairs and large granite benches have been removed or
have been replaced with a different construction material.
* Natina finishing of exposed metal work has been removed and replaced with standard prime and
paint.
* Construction of the pedestrian bridge in the Paso has changed from steel to concrete.
* The types of concrete paving have been simplified, and integral color additives have been removed.
* Top seeded, exposed, aggregates and other concrete surface finishes have been simplified.
* Signage has been simplified and quantity of signs has reduced.
* Planting procurement, installation, irrigation, and maintenance has been removed from the
contractor's scope of work though coordination with Mariposa County and the Sierra Foothill
Conservancy will be required.
* hydroseeding has been removed from the contractor's scope of work though coordination with
Mariposa County and the Sierra Foothill Conservancy will be required.
* Materials along the parkway trail have been reduced.
* Additional minor cost saving measures have been integrated throughout.
The Mariposa Creek Parkway Phase III project improvements have been identified as Schedule "A" Bid Items.
The Phase I + II Restoration and Access Enhancements (CNRA Project) have been added as Schedule "B" Bid
Items. Schedule "A" and "B" items are considered separate projects and must be bid as separate items.
Interested bidders must submit bid responses for both Schedule "A" and Schedule "B" Bid items.
