Water Treatment Plant Wastewater Discharge Upgrade

Synopsis

The Town of Ponteix Water Treatment Plant has wastewater that is discharged into the Notukeu Creek and do not meet the requirements from Water Security Agency and looking to rectify residuals in the backwash water discharged into the Notukeu Creek.

The objective of the Town of Ponteix Water Treatment Plant Discharge Upgrade project is to upgrade / operate the waterworks to ensure that the wastewater and residuals from the water treatment facility are amended, treated, or removed from discharge to Notukeu Creek, such that the residuals and effluent no longer have a negative impact on the receiving environment. The project will include adding a holding tank, pumps and piping to the main sewer to no longer discharge effluent into the Notukeu Creek.

The expected outcome of the project is for the community to meet the requirements by the Water Security Agency – water discharged to environment does not exceed limits laid out in permit EMPA 2010 29(1).

The Town of Ponteix, with funding approval, wishes to proceed with the Water Treatment Plant upgrade and now is issuing Request for Proposals for engineering services for pre design and detailed design of the upgrade.

Project Scope

The Scope of work should include:

Site plan and general arrangement drawings for proposed system upgrades
Design basis description for civil, structural, process, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation
Process flow drawings for system upgrades
Process, instrumentation, and control diagrams for system upgrades
Cost estimate for the proposed system upgrades
Cost estimates and scheduling
Field any contract inquiries
Review tenders for construction and make recommendations to the Town of Ponteix
Apply for all required permits
Submission of Draft and Final Pre-design reports including review meeting with the Town

Detailed Design

A detailed design for the proposed WTP upgrade
Issued for Tender drawings and specifications for the required WTP upgrades for tendering purposes by the Town.

This Request for Proposal (RFP) is an invitation by the Town of Ponteix to submit proposals for the provisions of engineering services required to review data / reports / drawings etc., then design drawings for the project.Proposal to include tender documents for the project; cost estimates and scheduling; field any contractor inquiries; review tender and make recommendations to the Town of Ponteix; apply for all required permits.
