Description:
The Work comprises, but is not limited to: Construction of recycled water improvements on English Road, located within the City's boundaries. Improvements include approximately 6,900 LF of a new 12-inch PVC recycled water line (RWL) on English Road, from Peyton Drive to Village Center Drive, approximately 830 LF of a new 12-inch PVC RWL on Village Center Drive, from English Road to 120 LF north of Eaglewood Drive, approximately 1,130 LF of a new 12-inch PVC RWL on English Place, from English Road to end of public right of way, as well as the installation of a recycled water service lateral for Ayala High School on Peyton Drive. In addition, the work consists of installation of 2-inch copper water service laterals, meters and boxes were indicated in plans; jack and bore, installation of valves, pressure testing, trenching, grind & overlay payment restoration, replacement of pavement markings and striping; and other necessary work to complete the recycled water line and street improvements per construction plans and project specifications, in accordance with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding guidelines.
*Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting: Prospective bidders are required to attend a pre-bid meeting held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Chino Hills City Hall, Council Chambers, 14000 City Center Drive, Chino Hills, CA 91709. Failure to participate in the pre-bid meeting will render a bidder non-responsive.

Qualifications:
|
|
The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or Class C34 Contractor's license at the time of submitting bids. The minimum acceptable experience shall include direct responsibility for performing the necessary work. To be qualified, bidders must have the experience, manpower, and equipment necessary and have successfully completed a minimum of five (5) projects of similar-type recycled water/domestic water main project (with an installation of recycled water/domestic water lines greater than or equal to 3,000 linear feet in length per project) for government/public agency within the last five (5) years. Failure to meet the minimum qualification will render a bidder non-responsive.

Special Requirements:
|
|
10% Bid Bond, 100% Performance Bond, 100% Payment Bond. It shall be mandatory, upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the prevailing rate of wages as established by the City Council as they apply to the work being performed. Said prevailing rates are available from the State of California Department of Industrial Relations website (**See link under Description).
