USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has a construction requirement to renovate restrooms in building 6414 at Moore Air Base in Edinburg, Texas. Building 6414 houses the Insect Management and Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory.
Work includes demolition of existing walls, ceiling, floor tile, wall tile, counters, sinks, metal lockers, partitions, plumbing fixtures, mirrors.
New walls will be constructed with metal studs and gypsum board; new sheetrock, 2x2 ceiling tiles, flooring, shower tiles, vinyl cove base, door trim, vanity, touchless fixtures. Work also includes demo of existing slab to install new sewer pipe to reroute sanitary sewer line to new sanitary sewer service, new lockers, partitions.
This project will be set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small business firms only. The NAICS code is 236220 – Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, with a small business size standard of $45 million. The estimated magnitude of the project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The solicitation will be posted on or about July 31, 2025.
