The Lompoc City Fire Department plans to replace all flooring at Station 51, including the upstairs living area, kitchen, hallways, and dormitories. Currently, the flooring is a mix of carpet and vinyl in the kitchen. The department has decided to install a single type of laminate flooring across the entire upstairs area to create uniformity and enhance both appearance and functionality. Because the flooring has not been replaced in some time, the flooring contractor will need to evaluate all underlayment and subfloor requirements. They will also assess transitions between rooms.
