The HHCC is currently operating under reduced services and emergency use services due to the disruption of domestic hot water. For our Davita Dialysis services, it is a CDC requirement to provide incoming water to the RO system between 60-90 degrees. If the temp is below 60, the membranes within the RO system will shrink that will not produce enough water that is flowed to the 11 dialysis machines on the treatment floor. Also, this is part of the Conditions for Coverage from Medicare, warm water is a requirement for hand hygiene. V114 CDC RR-5 as Adopted by Reference 42 CFR 494.30 (a)(1)(i)Dialysis services are currently rendered inoperable due to a requirement of 60-90 degree water for proper RO system operation. The only authorized and immediately available installer noted is incumbent vendor Emerson Boiler.
This was awarded in accordance with FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and compelling urgency. Sole source was approved on 3/18/2025.
