Introduction
The Birmingham Airport Authority is requesting proposals for qualified contractors to remove
the Motor Control Center (MCC) for the Storm Water Pump Station and supply and install a
new Motor Control Center at the Birmingham Shuttleworth International Airport.
The goal of this procurement effort is to enter into a contract with the best-valued Contractor
to remove the Motor Control Center (MCC), supply and install an MCC.

Scope of Work Summary of Project
The BAA is looking for safe removal, disposal, and replacement of the facility’s existing MCC.
The project includes disconnecting, removing, and disposing of the current MCC; supplying,
installing, and commissioning a new MCC; providing all associated electrical, mechanical,
programming, and testing services.
Currently we have
Cutler-Hammer 2100 MCC which is 1600-amps, 480-volts, 3-phase, 4-wire
Four banks with each breaker feeding the pumps 800-amp
Control system is a Watch Dog system

Scope of Work- Pre-Construction
Conduct site visits to verify dimensions, clearances, connections, and field conditions
Prepare project schedule, safety plan, and submittals for approval.
Provide detailed drawings showing MCC layout, conduit routing, and wiring diagrams
Coordinate shutdown windows with the Owner
