Notice of Intent to Purchase of 600 OEM Replacement Brake Pads (Part # C105546/35G5Y) Supplied by Knorr Brake Company, LLC

Project Description: The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is a Government Transportation Special District within the State of California that owns, maintains, and operates passenger rail service and freight rail service in Sonoma County and Marin County.
SMART is issuing this Notice of Intent to award a non-competitive, negotiated purchase order to Knorr Brake Company, LLC for the purchase of six hundred (600) OEM Replacement Brake Pads (Part #: C105546/35G5Y) manufactured by Knorr Brake Company, LLC. This Notice is being issued because it is SMART’s understanding that the only available source to supply these Original Equipment Manufacturer replacement parts is directly from Knorr Brake Company, LLC.
The estimated value of this Purchase is $98,325.00.
If upon review of this Notice, vendors determine that they can legally supply these replacement parts to SMART, SMART requests that those vendors submit a response to this Notice of Intent.
Any responses received shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement rather than proceeding with this sole-source negotiated contract. This notice is not a request for competitive bids or proposals. Responses received will not be considered as bids, quotes, or proposals.
The deadline to submit a response to this Notice of Intent is February 13, 2026 by 5:00 p.m. (Pacific).
