Background

The City of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, has an existing roof-mounted solar system at its City Hall facility. Based on the success of that project, the City is looking to expand the use of solar technology to two (2) additional city facilities: South Complex (5151 Maple Dr) and East Complex (6875 Martha L Miller Dr). The solar system at each facility must be roof-mounted.

Scope of the Project

The City of Pleasant Hill is requesting formal proposals from experienced firms to install a new solar array at the South and East Complexes. The selected Firm will be responsible for the complete installation of a solar panel system on the South Complex (515 Maple Dr) and East Complex (6875 Martha L Miller Dr). The project is aimed at reducing the energy costs for these facilities.

The scope of work is expected to include, but not limited to the following tasks:

  1. Assessment and Design
    • Evaluate the site for solar potential
    • Design a roof-mounted solar panel system that maximizes energy production
  1. Installation
    • Install solar panels, inverters, and other necessary equipment
    • Ensure all electrical and building code standards are adhered to
  1. Documentation
    • Provide all necessary documentation and support to file for Mid-American net metering
    • Assist with any other applicable tax incentive programs (state or federal)
    • Offer a comprehensive report detailing the installation and specifications of the installed system
  1. Training and Warranty
    • Provide training to City personnel on the operation and basic maintenance of the system
    • Include warranty details and maintenance schedule
  1. Timeframe
    • The Firm shall complete the installation and have the system operational within six months from notice to proceed.
