Municipal District of Taber
The Municipal District of Taber is inviting quotations from qualified trucking contractors for the transportation of contaminated soils from our Operations Building located at 6301 52nd Street, Taber to the Newell Regional Landfill.
Scope of Work:
• The MD of Taber construction crew will be responsible for loading the trucks at the site. An estimated total of 3,200 cubic meters or 6100 tonnes is expected to be removed.
• The successful bidder will be responsible for transporting the loaded contaminated soils to the Newell Landfill. On the return trip, the successful bidder will load clean soil from a Gravel Pit (Reti Pit located at NW5-11-16 W4) and return to 6301 52nd Street, Taber. Scale tickets must be maintained throughout the project.
• All trucking must comply with applicable environmental and transportation regulations, including the Transportation of Soils Contaminated with Flammable Liquids.
• Operating hours for loading at the contaminated site will be between 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday.
• Newell Landfill operating hours are between 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday to Friday.
Submission Requirements: Please include the following in your quotation:
• Rate per tonne
• Available equipment to be used on the project
• Availability, work is to commence by September 16, 2025 and is expected to take 2 weeks dependent on weather conditions.
• Experience – a brief summary of your company’s relevant experience hauling contaminated materials.
• Proof of insurance, COR and relevant certifications including spill response protocols.
• Any additional fees or surcharges
MD of Taber Provided Work/Information:
• Newell Regional Landfill – Waste Approval Form, including contaminated soil report (if required for TDG permits according to transport Canada).
• Equipment for loading soil at the Gravel Pit and Operations Building
The winning proponent will be selected on cost and their ability to meet the requirements listed above.
