Tactical Ballistic Vests for SWAT Operations

Project Description: The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to award a term contract to a qualified company for the supply of 45 tactical ballistic vests to support Police SWAT operations. The Police Department has conducted research and evaluation to determine the types of materials specified for the tactical ballistic vests. As a result, the City will utilize a brand name or equal specification calling out FirstSpear as the base brand. Other manufacturers may be submitted provided they offer equivalent features, safety, wearability, and functionality. For alternate manufacturers, the City will evaluate and decide as to the suitability of the product and whether it is acceptable as an alternate. This determination is solely the City’s. Vendors wishing to bid alternates to the brands specified must include complete and sufficient descriptive/technical literature with proposal to allow for the full evaluation of the proposed product. Failure to include this information or insufficient information may result in the rejection of the item offered. A sample of the proposed tactical vests (at no cost to the City) may be required as part of the evaluation process.
