Project Description: CITY OF DALLAS
SPECIFICATIONS FOR CRANE OPERATOR TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION – KNUCKLE BOOM CRANE
INTENT:
These specifications are intended to obtain crane operator training for twelve (12) City of Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) employees to ensure safe crane operations while supporting repairs and emergency maintenance to the water distribution system.
The training will prepare DWU staff with the knowledge and practical instructions necessary to safely operate a crane in support of emergency repairs and maintenance activities requiring crane operations. Training shall be aligned with the requirements of the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) for Knuckle Boom Crane Training.
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
The successful bidder(s) shall furnish all instruction, training materials and qualified personnel necessary to conduct a mobile crane operator training program. Training shall include both classroom instruction and hands-on practical training.
The successful bidder(s) shall provide a qualified instructor with experience in crane operation and safety training. Training shall be conducted in accordance with applicable safety regulations and industry standards.
SPECIFICATIONS:

Classroom instruction covering crane operation fundamental, safety procedures, load handling, inspections, and applicable standards.

Preparation of NCCCO written and practical exams.
•
Administration or coordination of required NCCCO certification exams.
•
Practical hands-on training and evaluation on applicable crane equipment (as coordinated with the City).
•
Provision of training materials and study resources.
•
Verification of participant eligibility for NCCCO testing requirements.
COMPLETION:
This is a one-time training service to be completed within the timeframe agreed upon by the City of Dallas and the successful bidder(s).
INSURANCE:
The successful bidder(s) must provide a Certificate of Insurance evidencing proof of $2,000,000 General Liabiltiy, Automobile Liability and Worker’s Compensation Insurance coverages
The City of Dallas will be provided a Waiver of Subrogation on the Worker’ Compensation policy and be shown as the certificate holder.
