The City of Oconomowoc is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to perform building demolition, asbestos abatement, and water service installation at 101 E Forest St. Contractor responsible to handle asbestos in building per pre-demolition assessment. Low bid demolition contractor should verify that their firm's name is listed on the 10-day notice submitted to the WDNR. Airborne dust must be controlled by misting/water spray during active building demolition. The demolition includes removal of the structure including concrete steps, concrete slabs, foundation, brick and all mechanical equipment.
Proposals are solicited on basis of lump sum prices for the abatement of the environmental items identified within the inspection report prepared by Balestrieri Environmental, or as adjusted based upon site investigations. The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, materials, utility, transportation and disposal services and all incidental items necessary to complete the entire project to the City of Oconomowoc’s satisfaction. All work must be completed by May 15, 2026. February 24th at 10 am has been reserved as the only day available for contractor’s to view the interior of the properties.
Sealed Bids are due at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 174 East Wisconsin Ave, Oconomowoc, WI 53066 no later than 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5th 2026 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud in Room 3 of City Hall. Bids shall be accompanied by bid security made payable to owner in an amount of 5% of bidder's maximum bid price in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cashier’s check. Bidder shall be required to submit a Qualification Statement to owner with its bid. Bidder awarded a contract for the work shall be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in the full amount of the contract price. Bid and bid security may not be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the bid deadline. Bid security shall be forfeited to City of Oconomowoc if the bidder is awarded the work and fails to execute the agreement and furnish 100% performance and payment bonds. The City of Oconomowoc reserves the right to select any firm's proposal that it deems the most advantageous and serves in the best interest of the City.
