This award synopsis is related to inactive pre award synopsis notice H-53_Eng_Log_Support_2. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) negotiated and awarded this sole source Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity firm fixed and Cost Plus fixed fee Contract with Sikorsky, A Lockheed Martin Company, Stratford CT. Sikorsky has been the designer and developer of the aircraft for the H-53 legacy and CH-53K helicopters, and, accordingly, is the only known responsible source with the requisite knowledge, capability, experience, technical data, and test equipment necessary to fulfill the Government’s requirements in a timely and cost effective manner. The authority permitting other than full and open competition is Title 10USC 2304(c)(1), as instructed by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
