Description
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) is seeking proposals from qualified proponents for the design, fabrication, and installation of a public art piece for its new Campbell River facility. This building will house Métis social housing, a licensed daycare, and a Chartered Community office. The public art is intended to reflect Métis culture, values, and identity and will contribute to the cultural landscape of the area while fostering community pride and connection.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The selected proponent may be a BC-based Métis artist bringing their own design and fabrication team or may be a design and fabrication team that collaborates with a BC-based Métis artist to design and implement a culturally reflective and technically feasible public artwork. The proponent will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, including artist collaboration, design finalization, permitting, fabrication, coordination with the construction team, and final installation.
BUDGET:
$100,000 to $150,000 (inclusive of artist fees, design, permits, fabrication, installation, insurance, and any contingencies).
